VINTAGE FIESTA WARE VASE: 10"

fiesta 10 inch vase

Vintage Fiesta ware Vase: 10"

Fiesta Flower Vases came in three sizes: 8", 10" (shown here in yellow and ivory), and 12". The 8" vase was made for about 10 years while the 10"and 12" were only made for a brief 6 years (1936-1942). It's important to remember that Fiesta vases are still being made today out of the very same shaped molds as their vintage counterparts. There are some differences though, most notibably the actual height of the vase. Vintage Vases are truely very near 10" while todays are more like 9 1/2". The glaze also thins out on the newer ones - you want a thick solid color. Sometimes one will be stamped on the bottom with a number. This quality controllers mark is a thing of the past, so if you see a number on the bottom somewhere you can rest assured you have a vintage vase. The very latest and greatest will have the new raised letter H on the bottom- thank you Homer Laughlin for that helpful addition.

Needless to say, these Fiesta vases are becoming rarer all the time, especially in good condition. It's hard to find a vase without some good old Homer Laughlin Factory flaws though. Retail value on these ranges from $900-
