RIVIERA POTTERY PRICE GUIDE

Riviera in good to perfect condition is getting extremely hard to find. Long gone are the days of picking up 9" plates at the Ohio Thrift Store for 1.25. Collecting Riviera is hard for the picky collector - back chips are so common it's almost like people think they were made that way.

Rare pieces of Riviera to note are the covered jug in any color but green (although even the green ones are scarce at this point). There are some in red with a lid, but those are very rare. Cream soup bowls can be found in ivory, although rare - the liner is even more ellusive. Demi cups, red and ivory handled tumblers, juice cups in red and ivory, 7" plates and 10" plates are all hard. If you find these great shapes and colors attrative now is the time to try and scrape together a good collection. I predict Riviera will become so much harder to find than Fiesta and that it is undervalued.

These prices should represent MINT pieces. Factory flaws are so common in Homer Laughlin's pottery that it doesn't play a serious factor in pricing. Chips are a shame and should at least bring the value down 20% - cracks are unrepairable - at least 50% down, depending on the rarity of the piece.
