Vintage Fiesta Mixing Bowl Complete Set (Number 1-7)

Vintage Fiesta mixing bowl complete set of seven

From the tiny #1 nesting bowl measuring less than 5" wide to the largest and heaviest piece in the fiesta pottery line, the #7 nesting bowl, these innovative bowls were only produced for less than nine years and remain hard to find in good condition. Early versions, from before 1938 will have concentric rings on the inside bottoms of the bowls, making those a special treat for collectors. Nesting a full set of seven bowls is no easy feat. Often times the bowls will be out of round and not nest well within each other. Early ring versions sometimes don't nest well with the later versions and the whole engineering of nesting bowls with barely a hairs breath between them leaves very little margin for error. The bowls were also heavily used, making examples without spoon dings on the rim or interior or exterior scratches difficult to find. Bowls should ring true when lightly tapped, hearing a thud or dull sound is a sign the bowl maybe cracked. The bowls were also dipped by hand so glaze variations and irregularities are common with pops and runs and misses more common than a collector would like.
